$1 Million Prize for Creative Ways to Spur Business

Posted by Kate Hodel on Aug 30, 2012
The Rockefeller Foundation wants to focus on what works in growing small business. And to discover the best ideas, the foundation announced a $1 million prize for the best job creation idea, particularly ones that employ young people. Judith Rodin, president of the foundation, announced the prize at a Tampa luncheon on job creation. She said they plan to do the competition virally, "watch for us on the Huffington Post and Twitter."

John D. Rockefeller Sr. established the Rockefeller Foundation in 1913 to promote the well being of humanity around the world. The foundation pursues an interconnected portfolio of initiatives, including those in social and economic security.
