Global Entrepreneurship Week: Kauffman Demo Day Is Scheduled for Nov. 12

Posted by Sarah Mote on Oct 22, 2012

How does Kansas City kick off Global Entrepreneurship Week? With a bang, that’s how. In addition to breaking a world networking record, Kansas City is planning a full slate of entrepreneurial events, all designed to showcase and spark KC entrepreneurship.

On Monday, Nov. 12, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will host its second Startup@Kauffman Demo Day. Startups from the first Demo Day last June along with those who applied by Oct. 21 and non-KC startups from the Silicon Prairie will pitch their businesses and demo their goodies in front of a rapt audience of advisors, mentors, partners and peers. The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Nov. 12 at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center.

About 10 startups from the Kansas City area will be chosen through an application process to present at the event. They will be joined by a group of Silicon Prairie startups from outside the Kansas City area and a handful of the Kansas City companies that presented at the inaugural Startup@Kauffman event in June during One Week KC. In total, founders from about 25 startups will have the chance to share their businesses' successes and needs. Those selected to present will be notified Nov. 2.

This year promises more startups, more demos, and more awesome than ever before. To find out more, visit the Startup@Kauffman Demo Day. To find more events like these during Global Entrepreneurship Week (and beyond), visit the GEW-KC calendar.
